I’ll be honest, I had a few problems with setting up my phone with the device. Fortunately for EFO’s sake, it turned out to be a compatibility issue with my phone than a problem with the device. So I switched over to my chick’s Nokia Music Station and it worked perfectly; it would have been nice if the company behind this included a compatibility list.Without this, it’s a bit of a crap shoot whether it will work with your phone or not.
Once working, music synched nicely and phone calls were crisp and clear on both ends. Again though I ran into problems, this time with the remotes. Both controls – the steering wheel and traditional remote – only work partly. The volume controls on either don’t work, neither do the play, pause or skip functions. The only ones that do seem to have any effect are the channel changing commands and the EQ control. This could be an issue with phone compatibility again, but it seems strange that the volume cannot be adjusted; even changing it on the device itself makes no difference.
While I like where they were going with this thing, it just feels broken and half finished.
Cost
At around £30, it’s quite cheap compared to some FM modulators considering the extra remotes, but since half their functions don’t work they’re quite pointless.
