Startech WiFi enclosure

The Startech WiFi enclosure is made of black plastic, and it feels rather cheap.

The other side, surprisingly enough, is similar.

The front of the enclosure has four LED-indicators: Power, WiFi, LAN, and HDD.

The backside shows all the connectors this WiFi enclosure offers: LAN and micro-USB. On this side we also find the power connector, and a mysterious Client Scan / AP switch, which allows the WiFi enclosure to either function as a standalone access point (which requires a dedicated WiFi connection on your device), or as a client of a WiFi network, just like your devices are.

Opening up the enclosure feels like breaking into a cheap plastic standard external HDD enclosure. Luckily, it doesn’t break.

Inside there’s a 2.5” SATA connector, for you to insert a 2.5” HDD or SSD. Once fit, the HDD sits tight.
