Here the OCZ drive pulled in the strongest read numbers, with Kingston taking the write crown. Unfortunately Samsung didn’t quite stack up in ATTO.

Samsung 830 128GB

Drive Index: 510.5MBps
Random Access time:

OCZ Vertex 3 240GB

Drive Index: 529MBps
Random Access time:

Kingston HyperX 240GB

Drive Index: 534.2MBps
Random Access time: 19µs

Close results here, though Samsung loses out slightly in the drive index. However, for random access it takes the crown even if it’s only by a single micro second.

Boot time

Boot times are based on using a stopwatch to time the period from when the power button it pressed until the Windows login screen appears. Post times on this setup arn’t the fastest, which can be attributed to about half the boot time in the SSD’s case.

VERY FAST! I have been running this drive now for over a month and could not be happier with it. No issues at all. I did a fresh install of Windows 7 when I installed it. Super fast boot and response of the drive. I am now thinking of buying another for my laptop.

A bit strange comparisson between 128GB SDD and two 240GB. Or according to the aughtor the size of the drives does not affect the speed of the SSD? ;)
