Kingston HyperX 240GB SATA III SSD

Test Rig

Thanks to CryoPC for providing us with this test rig.

CPU: i5 760 @ 4.0GHZ
Motherboard: Asus P7P55D-E
RAM: 4GB Corsair Dominator 1600MHZ
GPU: Sapphire 5850 1GB
PSU: TCorsair TX 650w

To test this SSD I put it through several synthetic benchmarks and a real world boot test. The former benchmarks were as follows:

ATTO Disk Benchmark
Crystal Disk Mark
Sisoft Sandra Physical Disk Benchmark

For the real world boot test I used a stopwatch to time how long it would take the PC to reach the Windows 7 login screen.

For comparison purposes I’ve used our test-rig’s HDD, the 500GB Seagate Barracuda 7200.12. I’d have liked to have included some other SSDs in testing, but unfortunately most of our recent results were generated with a different test setup.

any review that does not clearly state as part of the SSD spec whether a 7 or 9 mm drive is very DEFECTIVE REVIEW.
