Steelseries SRW-S1 Steering Wheel

The Steelseries SRW-S1 steering wheel performed very well in Simraceway, the game it was designed for. It’s a shame the wheel did not appear to work in either Blur or F1 2012 as they are both popular games and games I would have liked to have tested the wheel with.

For Simraceway to have a product out on the market like this is quite impressive although only around 90 to 100 people were online on Saturday when I spent most of the day testing the wheel. Even with this comparatively low number of players, the servers were full and finding a game to join was difficult. It was nice to see that more advanced game modes required the steering wheel, making it more fair as everybody in the race has the same controller although there didn’t seem to be many with the steering wheel.

The steering wheel retails at between £80 – 100, this seems quite a lot considering many of it’s features only work with Simraceway. If you are really considering buying this steering wheel, test the game out before hand for a couple of days, make sure it’s something you enjoy playing and if it is, this steering wheel will make a great combonation.

  • Very sensitive and responsive
  • Rubberized grips
  • Easy on the fly adjustment
  • Every control in the game is on the wheel
  • $10 coupon for Simraceway

  • Does not work with all of the games listed
  • No force feedback
  • Expensive
  • Simraceway still appears to be in beta stages
  • Extremely niche market
