Speedlink Zone Wii Induction Charger

Testing

There’s not really a lot of testing that can be done with the Zone Wiimote charger, other than listing a few of its good features, and seeing how long the charge in each pack lasts.

Results

While I’d love to tell you that I sat around playing the Wii for the full 20 hours that these charge packs are rated for, I’d be lieing if I said that. However, I did get through many hours playing with them without re-charging and can confirm more than 5 hours is easily possible regardless of how much waving or shaking the Wiimote is subjected to.

The Zone lights up at the front which is useful for a quick glance to check for activity. Red lights for charging, blue for fully charged.

Looks wise it offsets most surfaces nicely, and while it’s black finish doesn’t fit in too well with the pure white Wiimotes, it would with anyone owning a spanking new black Wii. It also certainly fits in with most current generation of flat screen TV’s, 99% of which come sporting glossy black paint jobs.

Cost

The cost for the Zone induction charger from Speedlink is a little high, but nothing too rediculous. You’re looking to spend around £35 when you pick up one of these.
