Corepad’s Deskpad is aptly named, it’s the size of my desk and it’s padded. The XXXXL model is actually so big that I left it draped over my sofa before some friends came over yesterday, and they mistook it for one of those Indian throws.
I received a pair of Deskpads, the XL and XXXXL. For the purposes of this review, I mostly used the XXXXL model.
The top surface is finely textured which works in tandem with optical mice; the gamers mouse of choice. The flexibility of cloth is quite useful considering the sheer size of this gaming surface. It can be folded/draped across things as you like to help fit whatever confines your desk may attribute.
The reverse side is a thick, spongy rubber with a woven texture. It may only be 3 millimetres thick, but it makes all the difference in comparison to the hard edge of a desk.
Aside from a lonely logo in the bottom left corner, the whole thing is quite dull and expansive.
I still can’t get over the sheer size of the largest model, it feels almost needlessly huge. As I write this, I’ve got 2 monitors, a 5.1 speaker set-up, a keyboard and a mouse on it, and there’s still tons of room around. If you remember my Keira review from the other day, then here’s a picture of it sitting on top of the XXXXL model so you can get an idea of scale:
The XL model fits quite comfortably on my desk with room for both my mouse and keyboard and a bit of space leftover to spare.
