Since the features for the DS710+ are identical to that of the 210 we reviewed previously, we’ll only be doing a whistlestop tour of its features. For a full rundown of uses for the NAS drive, please refer here.
After you’ve setup the DS710, you need to access the admin screen. It’s very full featured, and offers a host of options.
The first step is to setup a volume. You are given several drive configuration options.
Different stations are accessible from the main menu once activated, they include: a surveillance station for webcam security,
a download station for managing torrents and emule downloads,
an audio station for playing music and other audio files,
a media station which allows for photo blogging, as well as video and picture viewing in your own private gallery.
All files that you wish to access on the DS710+ must be transferred to the device manually before they can be viewed or used in the Synology software.
