S.W.A.P Rebel Smart Watch

Conclusion

This has to be one of the worst products I’ve ever reviewed. Hopefully SWAP will take this all on the chin, but if need be I’ll burn that bridge to warn everyone away from this. The SWAP Rebel is a horrendous product. It’s aggravating in the extreme. I appreciate that some features might not work because of my remote location, but the ones that do are terrible. The camera snaps pictures of your wrist half the time, the screen is tiny and the touch capabilities are inaccurate unless you use the undersized stylus and even then they’re not great. I know a touch screen is cool, but please guys, at this size, it’s not needed. Just give us some buttons.

And £180? Are you kidding me? I honestly wouldn’t consider buying this for £20. I can’t overestimate how much Im saying it. Never, ever even consider buying this. If someone offers to give you one, I’d stay away.

I’m sorry SWAP, try again, and try a lot harder.

Pros

Lots of features
Retro look?
I get to send it back

Cons

Touch screen is laggy, hard to read, too small and inaccurate
Headphones not detected properly and they have no padding; massively uncomfortable
Camera is placed to snap pictures of your wrist and is 640×480 quality at best
Video is laggy with very low FPS
Internal aerial is poor, signal hard to find
Internet in non 3g area is nigh on impossible
Unable to change keyboard from QWERTY layout

    180.- for this? Wow!

I’m not sure what I’d do if someone left me the choice between using the Rebel as my watch, phone and camera for the rest of my life or get struck by a horrible disease.

I bought a white sWaP Rebel from IWOOT for my boyfriends birthday and I must say he absolutely loves it! He uses it all the time and is the centre of attention with all his friends! He has not had any problems to-date and never has the problem of loosing his phone. Ace product and would definitely recommend!

Would you be offended if I suggested he might be being polite? :p

Glad he’s not had any problems with it, but being someone that has never lost a phone (touch wood), I would have almost any other phone over this.

I bought one of these Rebel watches, and I think its amazing, even in this review you can see that the picture and film quality isn’t bad. This is seriously one of the most fun, interesting products I have bought in a long time and I think this reviewer has lost the plot a little.

Thanks for the comment(s) Tim :p

I’m afraid though I must disagree, the SWAP watch is garbage.

Thank you for the informaive honest review.

In my opinion — Any watch phone using a stylus is an automatic fail, in the time it takes to type, select or even fumble around from removing the stylus to using it, you might as well have pulled an actual cellphone from your pant pocket. Gawd help you should you lose your stylus.
