Conclusion

Despite some initial stumbling to get the device up and going, and the annoying requirement of having to register a card, I am massively impressed with the Roku LT, especially for the price point of less than £50. If you’re looking for something to give you easy access to Netflix, iPlayer and other similar services, or your own media collection on your LAN, then you could do much worse than get a Roku LT. Had it not been for the card necessity (why not just ask for it when getting a paid channel?), problems setting up and few missing channels, this would have been 10/10.

Pros

  • Value for money
  • Decent channel selection
  • Easy to use
  • Responsive UI

Cons

  • Setup was problematic
  • Requires a credit/debit card to activate even free channels
  • No HDMI cable included
  • No USB drive support
