Today we’re looking at a gaming mouse pad by Oittm, large enough to sit beneath both your keyboard and mouse for a complete desk solution. A review unit has arrived courtesy of Lopoo UK, so let’s take a look!

Summary and score

This wide gaming mouse pad is a little stinky out of the box, but has no other noticeable flaws. It’s a good size, comfortable to use and has only minimal branding in one corner. Combined with the attractive price point, this LOPOO UK mouse pad gets our strong recommendation.

Design

The mouse pad provides an average amount of mousing space if you have a full-size keyboard with number pad, or a large amount if you have a tenkeyless keyboard (without a number pad). This makes it ideal for games like CS:GO, where precision is paramount and low DPI settings are common for mice.

The mouse pad is black top and bottom, with the only branding being a small Oittm wordmark in one corner. I’d have preferred nothing, but this isn’t too bad.

The edges are stitched, preventing fraying without making the mouse pad lumpy. The moderate thickness makes it quite comfortable to use, even over long periods, but also make it pretty heavy — almost a kilogram!

The bottom of the mouse pad is rubbery as normal, and combined with the heavy weight makes the mouse pad pretty immovable even on slick surfaces like glass.

Testing

Out of the box, the first thing you’ll notice about this mouse pad is the smell. For whatever reason, it has an unpleasant industrial odour that you can detect while sitting at your PC (and becomes very unpleasant if you actually sniff it). However, this smell fades after several days and isn’t a dealbreaker by any means.

We used the mouse pad for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Overwatch and Civilization V. In all titles, we found that the mouse pad provided a good, moderate amount of resistance — not too slick, not too slow.

Wrapping up

If you’re looking for a large mouse pad (a desk pad?) then this example from Oittm is a good choice. It feels well made, it’s a good size and after the smell fades there’s nothing much to say against it. Pick it from Lopoo UK’s Amazon store and give it a go yourself!
