Today we’re taking a look at some USB-C to USB-A 3.0 cables from ICZI. They boast a rugged nylon braided design and are available at a reasonable price — let’s see how they perform.

Design
As you’d expect, these cables have a USB-C plug on one end and a USB-A 3.0 plug on the other. Both plugs have an inoffensive ICZI logo on one side, so it’s a bit easier to plug in the USB-A end the right way around.
These USB-C cables are significantly thicker than most USB cables, with a braided nylon construction and reinforced joins that makes them feel quite rugged and durable. It also makes the ICZI cable more rigid and weighty than other cables, but this is no bad thing. They should last a long time.
Testing
We tested the cables over a two week period. In every occasion, they performed their duties admirably, connecting our Sony Xperia XZ smartphone to computers or mains power adapters. The cable was also easy to roll up thanks to the included velcro strap.
Conclusion
ICZI’s USB-C cables did everything we asked them to, and I’m confident they’ll survive without damage for years. We’ll update this review if we run into any issues, but for now they come heartily recommended.
