8800GTS Continued: The Other Stuff
Obviously with the cooler off, we can see the well received GPU in the flesh; up close and personal.
At the rear of the card you have two DVI slots and an SVideo cable. There is also the exhaust grill for the cooler which provides an exit point for the hot air.
The whole cooling setup is held on by several low profile screws which means there should be no mounting problems due to the rear of the card; unlike the Fatal1ty card from the same company.
From this angle you can also see that the GTS comes equipped with a single SLI bridge connector. Although this does allow for SLI – the connection of two cards to typically allow 60-80% extra performance – in its current state it means that this GTS won’t work in nVidia’s tri SLI format; when the drivers are released.
The final note to make about the GTS is that it uses the same power connector – 6pin PCI-e – not the much touted 8pin which simply adds extra grounding points.
