8800 Ultra SLI

Conclusion

It seems that without an extremely overclocked CPU and running at a very high resolution is the only way to get your money’s worth from these cards which is going to cost a lot. Still, if you can afford two of these cards you should be able to afford a top of the line monitor too. For anyone currently with a single Ultra, if you are playing at anything below 2560*1600, I would be very surprised if there was anything out there at the moment that wouldn’t be able to be played at full tilt with a single Ultra let alone two. Unless you want the most raw graphical power possible and plan on gaming on a monitor with a monstrous resolution, steer well clear of Ultra SLI.

Pros Cons
Look good together Extremely expensive
As future proof as currently possible Very CPU bottle necked
Only worthwhile with very fast CPU at high resolutions
