Bits and Box
The CPU comes in quite a professional looking box with a picture of the chip itself shown through several 3d “Holes” at the top of the packaging. It also has the typical Intel blue theme with a brushed aluminum look. It also has the chip specs and a few features listed on the back.
Inside you get a nice little spec and “Terms and Conditions” manual of sorts
The Chip itself with the stepping and product name on it
On the bottom of the chip, to protect the pins is a small piece of plastic. This is a good idea as you want to make sure that that piece of computer hardware that was the reason you slept on the couch last night arrives in perfect condition.
Here’s the stock cooler you get with the conroe. Looks alright but I am sure the enthusiasts among you will join me in saying one thing, “Stock is not cool”.
The cooler I will be using for the testing here is the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 pro.
The chip just raring to go
And now without further a’ do I will move onto the crux of this review, the testing.
