First up, the most important component of the whole kit: The CPU block.
Inside this neat little box we find a well-protected CPU block, two fittings with clamps and thermal grease.
“Everything I need!”, you could say. Let’s not forget about the component-specific manual, the mounting material with a nice driver for the fittings and, last but not least, a miniature shovel to spread thermal grease; very kind of you, Larkooler!
Unpacked, the block has a nice mirror finish with stylish black stripes and the standard LGA775 mounting.
The unit fits tight to not let any water through and has a seal sticker to prevent any residue and scratches before the actual mounting.
The block has a very good finish but isn’t 100% flat. Important to note is that most heatsink bases aren’t perfectly flat, in fact they’re often not that great. Larkooler have another job well done.
The block comes with it’s own backplate which fits, remarkably, every socket in one unit. The screwing holes can be pushed out according to what socket you’ll use.
Used on the AMD board, the block is easily mounted and fits tight.
