Pump And Reservoir

The pump looks fairly simple with two pipes – one for the incoming water and one for the outgoing water and this is the only part of the kit that doesn’t require nozzles to be screwed into it; instead the clamps just fit over plastic tubes.

Powering the pump is a 4-pin molex connector, in truth the cable is not that long but this shouldn’t be a problem as the pump is supposed to be attached to the base of the case using the sticky pad on the bottom and so not far from the PSU – in any case most molex connectors from the PSU have long cables anyway. A three pin header is also including for monitoring pump speeds – the expected value is somewhere in the region of 360 litres per hour.

The sticky pad on the bottom has a thick layer of foam above it in order to prevent the vibrations being transferred to the chassis.

Some water cooling kits actually have reservoir and pump combos with the tank on top which does mean less connections and tubing but AMA have chosen to include a cylinder tank.

In truth, the tank does look a little fancy especially with the silver dragon lurking on the top but it should function ok. Looking into the bottom of it, it has been divided up into sections and this is to prevent the water from swirling which is good to see.

Finally on the bottom, there is a valve for letting the liquid out.
