The side panel fan doesn’t fit in with the yellow colour scheme, and is instead just a translucent black affair. This panel has many more mounting points, allowing you replace the 220mm impeller, with 6 x 120mm fans.

The side panel also has sound proofing foam mounted around the edges, helping to reduce internal noise levels.

The inside of the case has a black paint job which always looks good. There’s also some more sound proofing material mounted on the other case panel.

At the front of the Maelstrom, in one of the 5 3/4 inch drive bays is a block with mounting clips attached to it. These are used in mounting ODD and HDDs into the case.

The rear mounted yellow fluorescent fan has a shiny sticker in the middle, fancy.

The base of the Maelstrom has four rotatable feet with two rubber grips on each.
