InWin Maelstrom – Externals

The Maelstrom case is, to put it nicely, a bit interesting looking. All in all it’s a good looking case, but I’m not a fan of the two front handles (which aren’t handles, as the sticker says) in their bright green; it immediately made me think of robot wars for some reason.

The top panel looks very sleek, with a mixture of solid aluminium and grill. In the centre is an InWin logo, with a roof mounted 120mm yellow fluorescent fan located in the rear. The shaping of the panel would quite easily allow for a double water cooling radiator to fit nicely.

At the front of the ceiling panel is a Maelstrom logo in fluorescent green, along with the on and reset buttons, and front panel connectors. These include: two 3.3mm jacks for headphone and microphone output/inputs, along with four USB2.0 ports, two eSATA and a single firewire connector.
