The Micro Fusion 350 HTPC – Externals
The Micro Fusion itself looks much more like a high-quality DVD player with the semi-gloss black paint and shiny silver metallic front giving the case a distinct style which would certainly look the part in any living room.
Moreover, on a more factual note, the following ports are available on the front:
- 2 x 2.0 USB ports
- Microphone jack
- Headphone jack
The sides of the product are home to many ventilation gaps allowing the hot air to filter out and also encourage a cool airflow through the case.
As you can see from the back of the Micro Fusion, the case is designed for Micro ATX boards (MATX). Also, there are vent holes allowing airflow to let out hot air. Similarly, there are two strips of ventilation holes located on the top of the case above the motherboard area to ensure this and any other cards are kept cool. The top of the case can be removed by unscrewing one thumb screw on the back.
The bottom of the case, despite not having more ventilation holes, has four sturdy feet that act as anti-vibration units. The back two are made of plastic, however, the front pair of feet are aluminium coated – so as to fit in with the style of the design.
Also, these feet are sufficiently deep to allow a good airflow through them and therefore there is no reason why the Micro Fusion couldn’t be situated atop another device, such as a DVD-player.
Accompanying the main product is a whole host of accessories. The obligatory user’s manual in many different languages is there, but also another manual for the remote control and a drivers CD for the remote.
In addition, there is a power cable and the remote control of course along with many different screws all needed in the installation process.
Finally, there are a couple zip ties included and this is a useful addition to the accessories as cable management is often an issue in cases.
