Antec 900 V2
The case itself, isn’t that different looking from the original 900. However, there’s a couple of aesthetic changes that alter the shape of the top, and the front looks a little different.
One alteration is that the front panel options are located right at the front this time, with a slight angle. The connectors found there are 2 USB 2.0, single e-SATA, headphone and mic 3mm ports and the reset and power buttons.
The space behind this, previously taken up with the front panel options on the original 900, is a simple plastic plated section allowing you to have some space to put your crap.
Along the side are little pockets which I guess you could put, some smaller bits in? Maybe screws or something. Why not. Very difficult to clean though.
One big change from the original is that Antec have included rudimentary dust filters throughout all front drive bay panels. The top one doesn’t have one, as that’s where your DVD drive is going, but underneath that there are 2 thin foam pieces covering the slots completely. Underneath that are two fan cages which have small meshes behind the large honeycomb grills that cover the entire front of the case.
Honeycomb grills are quite popular in PC components as they allow the most amount of airflow due to them being far more interlocking than circular, or rectangular shaped grills.
Removing one of the hard drive cages is as simple as pushing it out the front. It’s made up of the 3 x large honeycomb grills at the front, with a thin mesh grill behind for dust catching; backed by a large 120mm fan.
Each fan also has a small adjustable dial that lets you manipulate the fan speed.
