Small Windows PCs definitely seem to be in vogue. Last week we looked at the Hannspree Micro PC, and today we’re looking an (admittedly larger) alternative: the Zotac ZBOX PI320 pico. Microsoft are now offering commercial licenses for Kinect for Windows, with several firms including Toyota and Mattel having already taken up the offer.
“Kinect has had an amazing first year, selling over 18m sensors,” said Steve Clayton on Microsoft’s official Technet blog.
“Now it’s game on for businesses to show us what they can do with this technology – once they have Kinect for Windows hardware and have installed the SDK, they’re free to innovate away. Just how we like it.”

Microsoft has been showing off their latest build of the successor to their Windows 7 operating system, Windows 8. The new OS is said to reimagine the way users interract with the operating system, pairing in many features found in smart phones and on other touch screen devices like tablets.
“We reimagined Windows,” said Steven Sinofsky, president of the Windows and Windows Live Division at Microsoft. “From the chipset to the user experience, Windows 8 brings a new range of capabilities without compromise.”
The most exciting part for early adopters though, is that after the debut, Microsoft has made available the developer build of the new OS.

Windows 7 usage is on the rise and by a Gartner prediction, it looks like over 40% of computers will be running it by the end of the year. This is quite a step for Microsoft, as many are still using the quite antiquated Windows XP, an operating system released in the early part of the millenium. For security and feature reasons, getting people onboard the latest operating system is important.
