Samsung 103SJ 1GB HDD
Some excellent scores once again from the 470 SSD. Its random access time isn’t the most impressive we’ve see, but it’s far from poor.
TRIM
TRIM is a technology that helps keep SSDs at their optimum speed and without which, your zippy new solid state disk would quickly find itself running short on performance and usable storage space. This test checks to see how an SSDs performance degrades (and therefore the efficiency of TRIM) by loading up all its available storage space and then cleaning it out again with a simple deletion.

TRIM
Nice to see that there is very little performance degradation, and actually some gained in the case of Write 512k. The rest only showed minor loss, some of which could be put down to the minor percentage swing of results each benchmark has.
Boot Times
Boot times are based on using a stopwatch to time the period from when the power button it pressed until the Windows login screen appears. Post times on this setup arn’t the fastest, which can be attributed to about half the boot time in the SSD’s case.
Samsung 470 128GB SSD
36 seconds
Samsung 103SJ 1GB HDD
48 seconds
A predictably much faster boot time for the SSD.
