Kingwin Mach 1 ABT-520WMA1

Installation

Installation isn’t particularly difficult; as with any other power supply. As its modular your job is made slightly earlier as you don’t have to deal with an octopus of cables.

The most annoying part was trying to get the 4+4pin connector into the motherboard. As it’s a split type connector – to allow backwards compatibility – it slides apart and they don’t stick together. This is fine if you have easy access to your motherboards socket, but if – like us – you have to contort your hand underneath an oversized CPU heatsink, it becomes a pain in the ass very fast.

After plumbing everything into place, it was time for the power on. However, we don’t do things like most, and decided it was time for an even more extreme red-neck testing platform.
