Steelseries 9HD
Conclusion
This is a great mouse-mat. There no denying it. The only minor problem really is the price. £30 nudges it above common use and into the realm of specialist gamers or graphic designers.
Artists would probably be better off putting the money towards a decent graphics tablet, but the dedicated gamer who wants to make their experience that little bit more pleasurable – or who just wants to give themselves an edge – would be well advised to save up a few extra pennies and buy the 9HD. Or, for the high-sensitivity gamers wanting to keep things more compact, go for the smaller 4HD at nearly half the price.
| Pros | Cons |
| Good size eliminates over-running even for low-sensitivity players | Price makes it more suitable for dedicated gamers than average users |
| Excellent base grip | Occasional slip during use with ball-mouse |
| Uniform, medium-to-low friction surface makes gaming less strenuous | |
| Provides greater clarity of communication between man and machine | |
| Compliments high-end gaming mice nicely |
