Speedlink Styx

Conclusion

If you could put mice into price/performance brackets, with a stock OEM generic optical job at tier 1, then tier 2 and finally tier 3 for high-end mice, the Speedlink Styx would sit in the middle.

It commands a high DPI, but a low polling rate. It glides across most surfaces perfectly, and tracks well providing you use a normal mouse pad. Its price is the main selling point as it provides the occasional gamer the low-cost alternative to high-end, higher-priced mice while retaining many of the features.

While this would be a downgrade from, say, a Razer mouse, it’s most definitely an upgrade from a standard optical.

Pros Cons
Low price Low polling rate
High accuracy Uncomfortable for large/small handed users
Better than standard mice
