Razer Lycosa
Conclusion
Overall, this board appears to be a smaller, cut down version of the Tarantula. It offers the same speedy button pressing and polling, while removing the near obsolete BattleDock and reducing its desk space usage.
This board feels nicer to use, and the buttons provide you with the perfect amount of feedback while looking pretty swish in the process. The lighting is a bit of a let down, with it being particularly useless if you type or game in a more relaxed posture as the letters become hard to read.
While not without its issues, I personally believe that while it removes features from the Tarantula, it ends up being much better suited to standard gaming and typing while looking a bit better with the backlit keys. The price is reduced as you don’t have to pay for the 10 additional macro keys and BattleDock as you do with the Tarantula.
The lack of full board anti-ghosting is a bit of a let down, but the board does what it says, and does it in a great looking and comfortable manner. It’s a leap ahead of your standard keyboard, with great feeling keys, responsive buttons and backlit keys. If you want to turn heads while blowing them off in game at your next LAN event, grab one.
| Pros | Cons |
| Silky feeling buttons | Lighting is hard to see |
| Looks great; perfect for a gaming PC | Touchpanel has no feedback |

I have been using this keyboard for about a year. I can definitely say that it is not a great keyboard, in fact I would say that it is the worst keyboard I have used. The only reason I continue to use it is because of the backlit keyboard.
The biggest drawback is the fact that a majority oif the keys must be pressed pretty close to the center, or they will actually stick and not allow you to press them. I have never come across a keyboard like this. In addition, it is nearly impossible to see the lettering on the keyboard without the back light on, ever in full light.
Also it is a noisy keyboard, even though the keys have a textured soft feel about them.
Rating 2 out of 5.
Thanks for the comment craig. There’s many better backlit keyboards out there, for instance the recently reviewed Qpad MK85.
