Veho Muvi DV Camcorder

Conclusion

If all you want is a webcam, this is not the way to go. Picture quality is nothing above your standard webcam that could be bought for half the price. Design flaws and various performance issues surrounding sound mean that all in all, for what it’s capable of, the Muvi Micro DV Camcorder is badly overpriced. It’s small size is all it really has going for it. For that reason it’s perhaps worth buying if you’re running an up-skirt website or trying to catch your husband with the maid, but other than that it would not come recommended.

Pros Cons
Small and easily concealable Cannot record sound when used as a webcam
Also usable as a webcam Sound not always in sync with video
Frame-rate fluctuates wildly during high-motion recording
  Very slow data transfer rate
  Expensive

  1. a real disappointment. very poor sound. shaky picture results. biggest problem is that it stops without out any reason. I think I’m recording something and find I only got 2 or 3 minutes. it doesn’t keep doing 30 minutes segments as the docs say,

  2. Yep I pretty much concur with all you’ve said in your review. I’ve used this on a Mac, so can’t test the web cam software, but I’m not missing much.
The sound is a real let down. Basically unusable even as a voice track. Ugh.
However as tinycam it’s not bad.
