Synology DS710+ NAS
Conclusion
The DS710+ is a very good NAS drive, doing everything the previously reviewed DS210j did, with a little more speed and certainly a better looking shell to go around the internal drives. That said, the cost is astronomical, at more than 2.5 times as expensive as the 210, it would be very hard to recommend the bigger one over the other unless speed was tantamount and cost was no object.
Ultimately, you can’t go wrong with the DS710+, just expect to burn a very large hole in your pocket if you ever want to own one.
NB. While the speed wasn’t particularly ground breaking, this could have been improved by utilising a Gigabit network.
| Pros | Cons |
| Looks good | Incredibly expensive |
| Faster than DS210j, and purportedly other synology drives | Not that much faster than far cheaper version |
| Full feature set | |
| Many driver configuration choices and expansion options |
