Speedblack Gaming Platform

Conclusion

While this review may have come off quite negatively about the Speedblack, it’s not a terrible product. It does do what it’s supposed to do, give you a platform for your pedals and steering wheel which you can race on; but it doesn’t do it in a particularly great fashion. The paint job isn’t fantastic, the screws scrape the nice black paint away at every chance they get, and when they can’t, they often fail to support the metal platforms they are designed to hold in place.

The black version does look better in pictures, and with a few tweaks of your own – adding a rubber mat under the pedals, fine tuning the height of the platforms – I’m sure you’ll have a pretty good experience with it. But for something that is designed to give you an improved racing experience, it just didn’t deliver well enough with me to receive a good grading.

Yes using the Speedblack is better than using a table and the floor, but at 89 euros, it’s not better enough.

Pros Cons
Platforms are well made Wobbly joints, screw pressure used as apposed to nuts and bolts
Black paint looks good Red colouring is dull
Screw handles make screwing most of them in quite easily Some screws take far too much effort
  Footrest titled slightly
  No footrest grip at all
Cannot be used on carpet without wobble
