Dog Webcam 5MP

Conclusion

For £10 the webcam is quite impressive in that it has a 5MP camera which provides pretty good image quality if a little hazy and blurred at times along with a mic and a fan. The lighting adjustment is very good and allows pictures to come out quite well in most environments although of course the sharpness and clarity of the images are not great.

On a positive note, the mic and fan work very well and there are no problems here but the design of the webcam is my biggest problem. Supposedly styled like a dog, the product looks more garish and ugly than anything else and the front LEDs are simply annoying and poorly placed.

Usually with a webcam one would want a compact device but this is very tall due to the bendy arms which really don’t add to the appearance.

If it wasn’t for the looks, this product would not be a bad purchase but as it is it looks, for want of a better word, hideous and I’m not really sure who would want this sat on their desk. The lack of compatibility is also irritating with the still image button not working, and XP and Visa failing to fully detect the device.

Pros Cons
Reasonable camera quality Very ugly and strange design
Very cheap Garish LEDs
Mic and fan work OK Images not brilliant
XP and Vista don’t detect it properly
