abit AN-M2HD
Installation
As with any motherboard, installation was as easy as grabbing a screw driver and setting to work with screws and motherboard spacers.
As I’ve said before, the labelled front panel connectors made that part easier and it worked first time. To make it easier in the future, abit provide a sticker which you can put anywhere in your case detailing the layout of the front panel connectors and where the all important CMOS jumper lies. Everything is labelled and made easy for anyone who is a little unsure as to where all the cables go.
Once everything was in and ready to go, I realised that uninstalling nForce drivers off a different motherboard than what they were installed with doesn’t work too well, and after using every driver cleaning program the internet offers, a format was in order.
Once completed, the supplied abit driver CD made driver installation a breeze, with nForce drivers falling into place, and the audio drivers equally easy to install. Once completed everything worked flawlessly apart from the LA
which is oddly disabled if you decide to use ‘Fail-safe defaults’ in the BIOS.
