Overclocking

When it comes to overclocking, the 8800GTS cards tend to do very well. However, i wasn’t expecting the level of overclocking that this card was capable of. Taking it from its stock of 500mhz on the core and 800 on the memory, I was able to push it all the way to 630mhz on the core and a whopping 950mhz on the memory. This made some nice differences to the scores as you will see in the results graphs.

NB. To make sure there was no risk of damage to hardware, two 120mm fans were aimed at the card during testing. We would recommend that all those overclocking their hardware take extreme care in making sure that the part is cooled properly before beginning.
