Testing

For graphics card testing, we put it through its paces with some synthetic and real world gaming benchmarks. These allow us to compare the card, not only to other cards, but to itself between stock and overclocked states.

The PC that the 8600GT was tested in was as follows:

C2D E6600 @ 2.7ghz
Asus P5W-DH Deluxe
OCZ Special Ops. @ 900mhz
Tagan Silver Power 600w

The cards that I compared this GPU to were: MSI 8600GT Passive, MSI 8600GT Passive Overclocked and a Sapphire x1950 Pro.
