Speedlink Competition Pro 99 Game Collection
Conclusion
Overall, it is unfortunately the Speedlink contribution that lets things down a little. The games are their original glorious selves and the emulator does a good job of bringing them back to a modern audience. It has its quirks, but none as potentially crippling as the joystick’s.
That said, it’s a good and solid joystick in most respects. Easy to set up, chunky and satisfying to use. Many games will never suffer from the inability to make that one, short rotating motion. Some could go a whole lifetime and never even discover the problem. But for those who do, it’s going to be a real kick in the giblets and alas drags it’s score down a notch.
| Pros | Cons |
| Robust 8-way joystick just like ye olden days | Problem with one type of rotating motion |
| Huge selection of games included – most of which with joystick support | Poorly labelled disk image files make changing hit and miss |
| Easy to set up – no drivers required | No way to automatically disable system screensaver |
| color="#FFFFFF"> | Some games and much of the documentation only in German |
