Spire Cool Force 3

Testing

This is where I normally detail the testing procedure and give a run down of the PC used in the testing, the software run to test etc. However, I have sad news… straight after installing the CoolForce, the x1950 Pro wouldn’t post in any machine we tried it with. I reverted to the ZEROtherm cooler and the card managed to post fine, but the image it produced was corrupted so badly it was hard to see anything on the screen.

On closer inspection of the card, it looks like the rubber backing had stripped a resistor from the PCB which is most likely the cause of the corrupted screen. The chip that’s missing is noted as “C1979″.

Results

Unfortunately due to the death of our test card, I was unable to get any temperature readings for this cooler.

Noise

On this front at least, I can commend the CoolForce as it was quiet during operation… all 30 seconds of it.
