Scythe Bay Rafter

The Scythe Bay Rafter arrives in a cellophane packet with a couple of its featured dotted across the header.

Included with the Bay Rafter are an installation manual and a selection of case mounting and hard-drive mounting screws – no fan screws. The manual is written and diagrammed in six different languages.

The Scythe Bay Rafter is constructed from thick black plastic. I was unable to bend it any edge, so it certainly won’t suffer from snapping. It utilises a simple design with a 7cm hole in the centre with slots round the hole for larger fans’ airflow. All the screw holes are counter-sunk; this allows the screws to be threaded properly into the fan. As you can see, there are 12 screw holes in total – holes for 80mm, 92mm and 120mm fans.

Flipping the Bay Rafter over reveals two rails which are 3.5” apart. On each of these rails are three screw holes which line-up perfectly with your hard drives mounting holes. Cut-outs are evident on the outer frame. This allows you to easily screw a hard drive into position.
