CoolIT Domino ALC Watercooling Kit

Conclusion

The CoolIT Domino A.L.C. most definitely is an attractive purchase as it is able to offer better performance than the top air coolers but at the same time removing the complicated installation of a large water cooling loop. Essentially you get the best of both worlds.

The temperature results back this up with the Domino able to get within a few degrees of the AMA Aragon water cooler and be head and shoulders above the best air cooling solutions save for the Quiet mode. The performance and full settings appear to be a much better choice due to the increased cooling but note the noise levels are ramped up a fair rate.

So are there any problems? Well, the mounting of the unit can be a little problematic if your case has a rear 120mm very low against the motherboard but this aside, the installation is very quick and easy – light years away from the lengthy process of a full water cooling loop that involves leak testing, in some instances modding and connecting up each part.

As an overall purchase, the Domino kit gets the thumbs up from us: it’s compact yet large enough to cool effectively, easy to install yet at the same time reasonably secure and priced competitively. It definitely makes water cooling a more attractive solution allowing users levels of cooling that simply can’t be provided by their air counterparts. Perhaps most importantly though, it can be installed in the same time as a fan and heatsink combination.

A very tempting CPU cooling solution indeed that’s worth more than just a look.
