NZXT Whisper

Conclusion

The NZXT Whisper is a very surprising case, one I’m still not totally sure about. First off it’s not the best to look at when the system is off, but when powered on, it becomes something else, with its evil blue glow which happens to do a very good job of irritating the user in the dark. The main factor NZXT boast about this enclosure is its silence which indeed is something NZXT should be proud of having achieved. It’s not the quietest of cases I’ve experienced, but it dampens the noise from components and fans very well.

I was a bit let down by the inclusion of no front intake fan for the main case section, as this is an important part of cooling any rig. Another slight problem is the build quality of some parts of it; the flimsy low quality plastic used throughout this case really annoys me. Plastic like this breaks and snaps very easy and replacing the odd part on a PC case isn’t exactly the easiest thing to do.

For around £95 I’d say this case isn’t bad but really it’s all down to personal preference. Some people will love what I hate about this case and visa versa. In terms of the core performance and test results though, it’s certainly not a case for a gamer or over-clocker.

Pros Cons
Good Sound Dampening Cooling could be improved
Reasonable Price Flimsy plastic used
Aesthetically Pleasing when Powered On Too many Drive Mounts
Great Drive Installation Method Ugly when Powered Off
Lovely Chassis Layout
