NOX Coolbay HX

Coolbay HX – Internals

Removing the side panel by the usual method of undoing two thumbscrews reveals the main chamber. All the drive bays are located in one long column on the right hand side leaving plenty of room for the PSU and motherboard to fit in.

For the Coolbay HX, cable management is not an issue, there are slots under the motherboard for cables to be tucked away and for any that need to be kept out of the way the zip ties provided will do the trick. These cables can then be accessed by removing the other side panel.

The hard drive bracket can be removed completely by unscrewing four thumbscrews on both sides (this does require having to remove both side panels) allowing the bracket to slide out. Behind it is another fan – this time 120mm – cooling shouldn’t be an issue with this case. Inside the bracket too, there is foam covering on each side so as to help dampen vibrations.

A total of four 3.25” drives can be slotted into the bracket.

In regards to the front panel, the whole thing can be removed so the bays can easily be popped out to install an ODD or other such device.

Altogether, there are four fans pre-installed in the Coolbay HX (top, back, front and one on the side panel) but room for another one on the chassis floor.

The PCI brackets each have individual thumbs screws which makes it far easier to switch expansion cards around.
