Methodology

Testing cases is another of those odd ones, as the main test of any case, is what features it has, and whether its cooling options are quiet. The features are detailed in the look at the case itself, but individual ones will be looked into during the testing to highlight any problems or particularly innovations we liked.
We also have a rather unique test termed the “strength” test. This involves yours truly standing on said case, and checking how it reacts in terms of flexing. This test is detailed more here

However, the first step is installation.

Installation

I installed the following rig into the Jeantech Unicorn.

The click-open side panels make for easy access to the main body of the case. Once open it effectively all folds out making installation an easy process. The PSU, motherboard and graphics card all simply screw into their designated places with ease.

The ODD too is simple to insert, after removing the quick release clip, the drive slots in and is secured by re-attaching the clip and turning the switch – easy.

However, the same cannot be said about the hard drive installation mechanism. Despite being able to remove the whole bracket in order to fit a 120mm fan to the front, the rails included with the case would not fit my hard drive and so I could not install it. Consequently, I had to leave my HDD on the floor on the case leading me to believe that Jeantech need to take another look at their so-called easy HDD installation.

Finally, all that remained was to connect up all the leads and the rig was installed with little fuss.
