Coolermaster HAF 922
Conclusion
The price and size reduction of the 922 should have found it inferior to the older HAF 932 but the truth is that this newer mid tower chassis is a great improvement implementing new features and yet still retaining the characteristic shape seen before albeit a little toned down.
The spacious interior has been upgraded significantly with a polished silver finish far superior to the dull grey metal found in the 932. The drive mounting mechanisms and cut-out in the motherboard tray make for an exceptionally easy installation with the tried and tested methods seen in older chassis’ from Cooler Master.
The lack of dust filers in the 932 was a cause for concern but this has been amended in the HAF 922 as well as adding other nice touches such as the LED switch set this case apart from the field.
The decision to leave out a 200mm side fan was probably a poor one but mounting holes do allow expandability in the cooling department if it is needed.
Price wise, the chassis ducks below the £100 coming in at just £90 and for a mid tower of this quality you can forgive the lack of the side fan as quite simply everything else is very well done. Overall a brilliant chassis that comes highly recommend from the XSR team.
