Arctic Cooling Silentium T5

Conclusion

The pre-installed highly efficient power supply is certainly an attraction and there are other good points to be had with the Silentium T5. For example the tool-less installation of the drives and the PCI slots, work very easily allowing for quick and easy installation.

However, there are a lot of drawbacks: the lack of fans and expansion to add more is a bit worry with CPUs pumping out a lot of heat with higher TDPs; gamers and modders are very concerned with aesthetics and the T5 just doesn’t cut it looking awkward and out of touch with the modern range of cases from the bigger companies. Cable management also seemed to receive a lack of attention, being simply non-existent making it very difficult to keep everything tidy and stop unused cables from restricting airflow.

Overall, the Arctic Cooling Silentium T5 is not one of my favourites and my advice to you: there are better, cheaper, more stylish cases out that are a much more attractive purchase that the T5.

Pros Cons
Eco-friendly Not very attractive
Pre-installed PSU Poor cable management
Tool-less installation Cramped interior
  Limited cooling

The Arctic Cooling Silentium range of desktop chassis has slowly evolved with the latest enclosure now being the T5. One of the unique selling points of these chassis’ is that they are eco friendly incorporating a highly efficient power supply capable of supporting SLI or Crossfire graphics cards as well as a quad core CPU.Low noise emissions and a thermodynamic optimised design certainly sound like impressive features but how does the Silentium T5 stand up against cases from the likes of Antec or Cooler Master? Let’s take a look…
