Windows 8 will Support Xbox Live

Microsoft’s latest developer build release of Windows 8 has hinted at support for Xbox Live as part of the multi-touch orientated operating system. Known as the Metro interface, Windows 8 is designed to be a mixup between traditional OS navigation and smartphone/tablet control.

Since making the developer build available for download, over 500,000 people have taken Microsoft up on the offer. Interestingly, for such a touch orientated system, Microsoft has made it clear that Windows 8 will be quite geared to gamers as much as professionals.

This is quite a turn about as recent years have seen consoles dominating the gaming world. Now though there is the beginning of a resurgence in focus on the PC as the dominant gaming system. As it should be.

PC for life yo.
