Sophos Warns users to tweak Facebook Privacy Settings

Anti Virus firm Sophos has released a statement saying that Facebook users should go and view their privacy settings, as Facebook has now rolled out their facial recognition software, enabling it in most profiles without letting users know about it.This makes it so that you don’t manually approve tags anymore, infact it is done automatically and you have to manually go through and disable them one by one yourself.

Graham Cluley, senior technology consultant at Sophos said, “Most Facebook users still don’t know how to set their privacy options safely, finding the whole system confusing.  It’s even harder though to keep control when Facebook changes the settings without your knowledge. Facebook users should have to ‘opt-in’ to the facial recognition feature, rather than the onus being on them to ‘opt-out’.”

The option people need to look into the “Suggest photos of me to friends”  if they want to disable it.
