While Apple is battling lawsuits on all fronts, it seems that one they won’t have to worry about too much anymore is the one with HTC. The International Trade Commission has now dismissed HTC’s claim that Apple infringed on their intellectual property; putting Apple in the clear on that one.
To show how frivolous these smartphone wars suits have become, HTC was claiming that the method used for dialing numbers was infringed upon by Apple.
“This is only one step of many in these legal proceedings,” HTC general counsel Grace Lei said in a statement. “We are confident we have a strong case for the ITC appeals process and are fully prepared to protect our intellectual property.”
Apple has also been doing quite well on the Samsung front, with bans being put in place against their smartphone and tablet rival. However, Samsung is now pushing hard to get the iPhone 4s banned, which despite its impressive early numbers, would cause problems for Apple if it was banned this early on its it sales cycle.
