Facebook and Twitter are Friends now

Despite being somewhat competing services, it seems that the higher ups at the world’s two biggest social networking sites, Facebook and Twitter, have been high fiving behind the scenes, as the websites are looking to get a little closer in their interworkings. Soon people will be able to link up their Facebook and Twitter accounts, allowing people to “subscribe” to people’s Facebook pages in the same way that Twitter users follow others.

For now neither company has said when the new system will go live, but it is expected by analysts to be unveiled at the Facebook F8 developers conference on the 22nd of September.

Perhaps the two social networks are considering further cooperation to help keep Google’s latest social networking venture, Google + at bay, as it’s popularity is certainly growing.
