Dead Island Developer Build Hits Steam

Completely unintentionally, a developer version of the recently released (in NA) game Dead Island, has landed on the steam platform allowing gamers to perform a wide variety of game breaking actions at just the press of a button. Gamers noticed something was up when it was discovered that hitting the “y” key, wiped all their stats and allowed “noclipping”, meaning they could pass through all walls with impunity.

“We deeply regret that an incorrect version of Dead Island was inadvertently made available to players on Steam launch in North America,” reads a note on the game’s Facebook page.

“We are very sorry for any issues you may have experienced while playing the game – the correct, patched version will be made available to North American players ASAP.”

The game was released to its US audience with a 0 day patch containing 37 fixes. Apparently when other gamers around the world get access to the zombie coop shooter/slayer, the game will come packaged with these new fixes and in non-developer mode.

Hopefully.
