Ubisoft has announced that it is taking legal action against the Black Eyed Peas, attempting to sue them for a million dollars due to a breach in contract over an iOS mobile game.
The publisher released the Wii and Xbox 360 version of the “Black Eyed Peas Experience” last year and has been looking to release an iOS port as well. It’s all finished and has been for a while – all it needed was for the group to approve the game. And it’s been waiting now, since March – with no word whatsoever.
“Since March 2012, and despite Ubisoft’s repeated requests, BEP Music has breached the contract by failing and refusing to either approve or disapprove the IOS game in writing or otherwise,” the Ubisoft filing reads (via CourtHouseNews).
“Ubisoft has performed all of the obligations required of it under the contract, except as those obligations that have been excused by BEP Music’s conduct or by operation of law,” it continues.
Contractually BEP Music was required to provide a response on the game within 10 days, so it seems ridiculous that it’s been seven months with no response on it; especially considering the fact that its release would undoubtedly make the group a few sheckles.
