Australia Bans Aliens vs Predator
Aliens vs Predator has become the second high profile game banned in Australia in recent months, with the first being Left 4 Dead 2. Both titles were unable to be clasified in the country's highest rating, 15 for a variety of violence, but specifically the fact that "the Predator collects 'trophies' by explicitly ripping off human heads, their spinal columns dangling from severed necks…heads can be twisted completely around…eyes can be stabbed through or gouged, leaving empty, bloodied eye sockets…extensive post-mortem damage, including decapitation and dismemberment, is also possible."Sega has pledged to attempt to rescind the ban by altering certain in-game content, "we will continue to investigate all options available to us, including the possibility of appeal."
Other companies like Blizzard have had to change their in-game content, specifically in China where the game makers had to change World of Warcraft's corner skeletons to little bags of sand.
